Challenge

Nike came to us with a company culture problem. Their reputation as one of the world’s most powerful consumer brands didn’t translate to their internal employee culture. It wasn’t perceived as open, dynamic and innovative place to work, and when you went to apply for a job at Nike, the experience, to quote a stakeholder “felt like a trip to the DMV.” As a legacy company competing in the talent economy, they faced an inflection point to transform their employer brand culture into a beacon for top global talent. They needed to create an employer experience as momentous and relevant as their consumer brand, with a massive, global campaign to kick it all off.

Approach

We created a holistic content and digital experience, combining a 10-part editorial content series featuring the coolest jobs and employee stories across the globe, with a one-of-a-kind career site, built around a unique user experience we called: “Find My Fit.” Rather than hunt for jobs, potential employees went through a gamified experience that resulted in jobs getting served up to them. We replicated the experience across the Converse and Hurley brands, and painted a global picture of what it felt like and meant to work at Nike. The new employer brand and site helped the brand make a bold statement: the reason Nike is always pushing boundaries is a direct result of their company culture.

Results

  • 26% increase in site traffic

  • 74% increase in ‘Apply’ clicks

  • 33% increase in user sessions

  • 50% reduction in bounce rate
